Doctor Ecker is an experienced, board-certified dermatologist. He joined Eastern Connecticut Dermatology in March of 2014, offering a full service medical, surgical and cosmetic dermatology office.

Doctor Ecker obtained a bachelors degree in biochemistry from the University of Colorado and worked in pharmaceutical research for nearly 10 years before returning to the University of Washington School of Medicine to earn his MD degree. He completed his medical internship at Virginia Mason Hospital in Seattle and then trained in dermatology at the University of Wisconsin. He also served as Chief Resident in his last year of training.

In his spare time Dr. Ecker enjoys cooking, the outdoors, playing banjo and guitar and spending time with his children. Dr. Ecker has enjoyed taking care of the skin care needs of the people of southeastern Connecticut and becoming a member of the community.


Luanne is a local of south eastern Connecticut and a 1984 graduate of Fitch High School.

Luanne has been a nationally certified Physician Assistant since 1988. She is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of the Gannon University PA program in Erie, PA. She obtained her Masters Degree in Physician Assistant Studies at the University of Nebraska. She is a current member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants(AAPA)and the Society for Dermatology Physician Assistants (SDPA). Presently Luanne is obtaining Diplomate Fellowship status in dermatology at the SDPA.

With 29 years in clinical practice, Luanne brings vast experience to Integrated Dermatology. She has enjoyed her years working in surgery and managing ICU patients. She also brings knowledge and understanding of pain management. Most recently she was practicing in Oncology/Hematology and Palliative Care. Luanne felt honored and privileged to care for her patients during their most difficult journey's. Luanne has a special interest in Aesthetics including laser, toxins and filler treatments. She enjoys medical dermatology and management of Acne and Psoriasis as well as the surgical treatments indicated for the management of skin cancers and lesions.

Luanne has been married to her best friend John Hespeler since 1989. They have three children, Tyler, Jessica and Chloe. Their lives revolve around family and they realize each day is a gift!


Chris Thompson is a licensed and certified Physician Assistant and a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants.

Chris retired from the US Navy last year after serving 26 years. He received his Physician Assistant degree in 2003 from University of Nebraska and has been practicing dermatology for 7 years. He manages diseases of the skin, hair and nail of all ages.

He was a faculty member and taught clinical dermatology at the Naval Undersea Medical Institute located at the Submarine base in Groton, Connecticut. He has also been a guest lecturer at several medical conferences, teaching general dermatology and class on advanced wound closures.

He is currently completing a dermatology Diplomate program through the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants. He lives in Old Lyme, CT with his wife and three children.


Dawn has been a registered nurse for 14 years and has worked in healthcare for more than 20 years. She is a graduate of the National Laser Institute and is a certified Laser Technician as well as a trained nurse injector.


Kelsie has over seven years of Dermatology experience. She is a licensed Aesthetician, Certified Laser Technician and Certified Dermatology Technician. Kelsie is also trained and Certified in Hydrafacials.
